The Last Trimester Begins!

Updated: Feb 15

The third trimester of the year has arrived, and we’re just getting right back into the rhythm. Screenings, performances, friendly matches and training all across campus mark the beginning of our new trimester.

The trimester started with an electrifying bang with the TBD Crew Showcase and dance battle. TBD, Krea’s competing dance crew hosted a fundraiser showcase which included multiple original choreographies as well as their competing piece for this inter-college festival season.

Clubs and societies at Krea have also showcased a bounty of films over the past few weeks. The film club screened My Neighbour Totoro and Grave of the Fireflies, in succession to honour the release of both films on the same day. Layam, the music club screened Moulin Rouge, the Run Club screened Bhaag Milka Bhaag and the Anime society screened “Solo Levelling.”

Moving on from screenings and onto workshops and events, the Literary Arts club hosted a Trivia night, the IFMR HR Committee ‘Synergy” conducted a treasure hunt designed to test intellect, teamwork and discovery skills, and IFMR Analytic conducted an analytical tools workshop to familiarise students with tools in the financial consulting domain.

The ‘Zero to One’ pre-seed funding round took place at the Krea Admin Office on 3rd February, 2024. The panel of judges that evaluated pitches was comprised of Anil Srinivasan, Founder, Kruu, Sathyanarayanan Ramachandran, Associate Professor of Marketing at IFMR, and Professor Vijayalakshmi C, Professor of OB & HRM at IFMR.

Mitansh Aggarwal and Viney Jain from SIAS’ 2025 cohort, were recognised for co-founding Sibling, a mental health platform, and received a grant of Rs. 1.5 lakhs. Congratulations Mitansh and Viney! All finalists were also offered mentoring opportunities by the panel to aid in the development of their businesses.
