If We Could Choose

Updated: Nov 30, 2023

When the voices speak, no one warns,

When the winds blow, no one is heard,

Yet the noises are the loudest of all.

When the people come, no one is informed,

When the forces rise, no one is told,

Yet the stampede of riots is the loudest of all.

Some go left, some go right,

The road to choose is-

a trial of wrong or right.

When the whispers reach, no one warns,

When the winds blow, no one is heard,

Yet the heartbeat is the loudest of all.

When the looks appear, no one is informed,

When the forces rise, no one is told,

Yet the silence of crowds is the loudest of all.

Some go to places of hell and fire,

some go to snow and ice,

The road to choose is-

a trial of wrong or right.

To be or not to be,

is the question,

held close to hearts.

Tightly recoiling in our chest,

for us to choose,

And live a life we have to start.

Choosing a path one can't foresee,

Is a curse with our watchful eyes,

Yet the paths we choose, collide or divide.

The choices we make are for better or worse,

A choice one has, is a power one can't undo

But only improve.

So will we choose? a life to forge or follow

when the time arises or,

Do we choose to be better, better than the best

or do we choose to be like all others, just like the rest.
